ABOUT US
The Brooks Family professionally breeds and trains Labrador Retrievers in the rural Dallas, Texas area.
Brooks Labradors LLC is a family business. Our six children, ranging in age from 6 to 21, care for the dogs, manage much of the paperwork, the books and (of course) the puppy socialization.
Our breeding program is known throughout the United States (and beyond) for well-balanced companion dogs with exceptional temperaments. Our puppies are hand-raised by our family of eight, and are trained with the care that only such an environment can provide.
Our dogs are “True Retrievers with a Classic Build.” We produce genetically sound, highly trainable Labrador Retrievers with a classic build and exceptional temperament.
Our puppies are sought as companion dogs, guide dogs for the blind, diabetic alert dogs, therapy dogs, detection dogs, personal gundogs and all around good looking Labrador Retrievers with competitive potential.
Our dogs have a Genetic Advantage:
-We certify our dogs’ HIPS through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).
-We certify our dogs’ ELBOWS through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).
-We certify their Eyes through the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF).
-We screen our dog’s DNA for Progressive Retinal Atrophy through the Optigen program.
-We screen our dogs DNA for Exercised Induced Collapse (EIC)
-We screen our dogs DNA for Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM)
We encourage clients to “Invest in your Dog, NOT in your VET.”
We produce substantial, sturdy Labradors that have “presence,” while retaining their athleticism.
Our Labs are loyal dogs with a solid work ethic, ability to focus and are eager to please.
Our dogs are attentive Labradors that “match your mood.” Our dogs are ready to play when you’re ready to play, ready to work when it’s time to work and will fall asleep at your feet when you’re ready to relax.
We ask for a 50% deposit to reserve a puppy and the balance when you take your puppy home. Price includes first vaccination, dewclaws, Health Guarantee; AKC & UKC Registration papers are included.
When our puppies are in their 8th week and are ready to go home, our buyers pick their puppies in the order we received their deposits.
Take-home dates will generally be on a Sunday when the puppies are 8 weeks old. Since our customers travel here from all over the U.S. (and occasionally from overseas), we reserve the right to adjust the take-home date to accommodate the majority of customers for a given litter.
As a rule, we do not ship puppies. Instead, many folks fly here from around the U.S. on a one-day round trip ticket. We can meet you at the airport and
hand you your puppy (for an additional fee), then your puppy can fly back in the cabin with you as carry-on (in a “soft kennel” duffle bag). This is much less stress on the puppy.
These dogs are part of our family. With the help of our six kids, we hand-raise our puppies to produce socially adjusted Labrador Retrievers. We would love to talk to you about our dogs.
Brooks Labradors LLC is also developing and expanding our breeding program to encompass Diabetic Alert Dog training. Each Diabetic Alert Dog bred and trained by our family connects your family to ours… As parents of six children, we are passionate about the health, safety and freedom of our own children… We are just as passionate about bringing health, safety and freedom to your children (it’s a personal thing)!
